E U R O P E A N E N D O C R I N E D I S E A S E 2 0 0 6 23 Antonio Ceriello is Professor of Metabolic Medicine at the University of Warwick. He is an active member of numerous diabetes associations, including the American Diabetes Association (ADA), the American Heart Association (AHA), the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD). Professor Ceriello has been invited as both chair and speaker to numerous conferences and congresses around the world. Professor Ceriello has published widely in the area of diabetes with over 180 original papers and several book chapters. Furthermore he is a regular reviewer for numerous journals including American Journal of Physiology, Circulation, Circulation Research, Diabetes, Diabetes Care, Diabetic Medicine, Diabetologia and Lancet. Professor Ceriello was also consultant of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for the programme of research 2003–2005, related to cardiovascular disease and type 1 diabetes.
